On December 20, Ukraine hosted the world’s first ceremony of awarding the winners of the open voting in the field of cryptocurrency and blockchain technologies BTC Awards CIS. The concert club Bel`etage located in the heart of Kyiv brought together the blockchain heroes of the outgoing year from the Central and Eastern Europe countries. The event became a unique platform for an open dialogue between the recognized experts from Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Canada and the United States.
In addition to the awarding ceremony, the event also had four discussion panels dedicated to ICO & Tokenization, Legal, Mining, and Coins. Sixteen top experts discussed the most pressing issues in the crypto world of this year and shared their forecasts for the next one.
The first discussion was devoted to the ICO & Tokenization featuring the co-founder of TaaS Ruslan Gavrylyuk, the founder of Distributed Lab Pavel Kravchenko, the adviser to Hacken Andrey Velikiy and the CEO of Ambisafe Software Johnny Kartakov. The panel was moderated by the specially invited guest from Moscow, the co-founder of IBCG & the co-founder of HOQU Roman Kaufman.
Next, the crystal crypto awards were handed out to the winners in the following nominations:
- ICO 2017 — KICKICO
- Exchange 2017 — Exmo
- Coin2017 —Bitcoin
The Legal panel started immediately after the presentation of the first three awards. It was moderated by the co-founder & partner of Axar Partners Nazar Polyvka. Among the participants of this panel were the managing partner of Juscutum Artem Afyan, the representative of the Tax and Legal Department of Deloitte (UA) Vladimir Yumashev and the CEO of Axon Partners Dima Gadomsky.
In the course of the night, another three awards were handed out in the following nominations:
- Trader 2017 — Anatoly Radchenko
- Developer 2017 —Cyber.Fund
- Adviser 2017— Ruslan Gavrylyuk (TaaS)
Then the BTC Awards CIS guests were invited to the Coins panel featuring the leading expert of Monero Francisco Cabanas (Canada), the representative of Dash Oleg Karimov (Belarus) and the leading expert of ZenCash Davita Mrelashvili. This panel was moderated by Vasily Kuznetsov from IBCG.
When the Coins panel was finished, the winners received their crystal awards in the following nominations:

- FuckUp 2017 — Bitcoin Cash
The final panel Mining was moderated by the CEO of Remme Aleksander Momot. This discussion involved Aleksander Ivanov from Datascientist, Andrey Sobol from Pandora Boxchain, and the cryptocurrency expert & CTO of Acronym.systems Matvey Sivoraksh.
The official part of the event was finished with the presentation of awards to the winners in the following nominations:

The night ended with the long-awaited New Year’s Eve Party, where the event attendees had an opportunity to summarize the outgoing year and share plans for the next one.
Let us recall that in order to determine the winners of the BTC Awards CIS, the organizers initiated an open and independent voting based on the blockchain technology for the first time ever. Vareger helped to implement it by having developed the voting process. During three weeks, about 3, 000 votes were collected having determined the winners of the world’s first crystal crypto awards.
